Crytec Ltd. was established in March 1999 when it began its Research & Development operations in the Technologies Incubator of Kiriyat Gat in Israel. Based on the proprietary technology of its founder, Crytec developed a new slurry icemaking method, whereby slurry ice is produced in a tube-in-tube crystallizer, not, as in the current slurry ice machines on the wall of the crystallizer’s inner tube, but inside the volume of the cooling medium, for which seawater, fruit juice, alcohol, salted water, or water with other additives can be used. This new, patented process is called “volumetric crystallization by cooling”, and is possible by a combination of several parameters, such as using a high precision, hand-tooled crystallizer, injecting air or gas (CO2 or O3), and precisely managing the temperatures, pressures and flow rates at different points throughout the refrigerant and cooling medium circuitries.
USA Patent #6305189 “Method and Installation for Continuous Crystallization of Liquids by Freezing” was issued in August 2000.Patent applications were filed in Europe, Russia, Brazil, Australia, Japan and China in April 2003. The CE mark for the European Community was obtained in March 2002. In March 2001 Crytec moved to a new manufacturing facility in Beer Sheva, Israel, where it combines its continuing R&D program with the production of three standard models of Crytec Bubble Slurry™ Ice machines.
Crytec is a rapidly growing company with a staff of more than 20 employees. The Crytec Bubble Slurry™ Ice machines are designed and assembled in Beer Sheva. The manufacturing of its custom-made storage/mixing tanks is subcontracted. For performance tests and trials, scientific experiments, and laboratory analyses, Crytec is allied with several prominent academic institutions in Israel, Europe and the USA.
Crytec’s first Bubble Slurry™ Ice machine has been in operation in the Desert Shrimp aquafarm of Kibbutz Mashabe-Sade, under a harsh desert climate with temperature and humidity extremes throughout the year. This first Bubble Slurry™ Ice machine has been in continual operation since 2001 without one single technical emergency. The only expenses have been the quarterly change of the inlet water filter and an insignificant electricity bill.
Crytec has introduced its line of Bubble Slurry™ Ice machines and custom-made storage/mixing tanks for TESS (Thermal Energy Storage Systems) on a worldwide scale, until recently primarily with the focus on the fish industries: marine fishing, aquaculture and fish processing.
Crytec’s objectives are to strengthen its outstanding reputation in the fisheries industry, and to expand the use of its unique lines of Bubble Slurry™ Ice machines into a variety of identified applications, namely in cold storage and refrigerated transportation, meat & poultry processing, food & beverage production (bread, cheese, juice concentrates, ice cream, rich wine, frozen & carbonated beverages), fruit, vegetable and flower cooling, seawater desalination, water cleaning and recycling, thermal energy storage systems (TESS), and air-conditioners.
